He will indeed. I've got a shelf devoted to all his science fiction books (and the Wasp Factory though that doesn't take much room). Surface Detail and the Algebraist were my favorite I think but Matter is a close third.

I'd just bought Dangerous Visions (an anthology compiled by Harlan Ellison). Just reading an original story by Philip K. Dick that Harlan asked him to write under the effects of LSD ... yeah, I love this ****. :)

I've been meaning to read the Culture books ... quite terrible so many talented people leave us so soon. Thanks for the heads up.

I only read that one very recently and am ashamed I forgot about it in my list. It really was spectacularly beautiful and crushing.

I wonder if the disc menu for Beyond Thunderdome on Blu-Ray is the same as on the DVD. For that matter, I wonder if I could handle that much Thunderdome.

Yeah, basically there's a table issue where attachments from 1/2 to ~2/4 will cause issues. I think it's straightening itself out now, but if it keeps happening I'll go in and fix it manually. The existing images will always be screwed up but shouldn't happen anymore. Hopefully.

  • Humble Bundle 11
    • Guacamelee! Gold Edition
    • Dust: An Elysian Tail
    • Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams
    • The Swapper
    • Antichamber
    • Monaco: What's Yours Is Mine

  • Humble Weekly Sale
    • And Yet It Moves (AYIM)
    • The Dream Machine
    • Luxuria Superbia
    • Dear Esther
    • The Bridge
    • 7 Grand Steps

I already owned The Bridge but I really wanted And Yet It Moves (AYIM), & Dear Esther, so I didn't mind paying for it again (maybe I'll gift it). The Bridge is amazing if you haven't already played it. I really enjoy puzzle games with relaxing music. It was a bit short & only semi-challenging but there was one level that I had to get help with via a walk-through (something that I typically frown upon). I played Dust for a few minutes & it looks to be quite fun as well. I must say that I've really enjoyed the games that Microsoft Studios has been putting out lately. Deadlight, for instance, was a blast. Dear Esther is probably the most beautiful "game" that I've ever played. The cave area in particular was amazing. And Yet It Moves (AYIM) is highly addictive & though it can be a bit frustrating at times, the animation & sound that it makes when you die makes it a bit less so. I've been a big fan of these bundles for quite some time but I've skipped several of them because the games just didn't interest me. However, these last two have been well worth it. I'm really looking forward to Antichamber & The Swapper as well. So many games, so little time.
? :)

PS. I'd played and reviewed And Yet It Moves, I remember I didn't like it all that much, heh.

TotA is a rad game, one of my favorites of all time. The 3DS port is pretty good considering the system it's running on. I've put 62 hours on it, and over 120 on the PS2 version.

It's pretty engaging, I just gotta get a hang of the elemental dickery in battles.
