It depends what you're doing. I use it for work (coding) to replace my aged 2x 22" 1680x1050 setup. I rarely game these days but even on my little 750Ti WoW runs perfectly acceptably (and that's under WINE).

For academic stuff it's fantastic. LibreOffice will display 3 A4 pages next to each other at exactly 100% :)

I meant more about the scaling. Surely you're running it in high DPI mode? How the in the heck could you even read text otherwise? It'd be like 4pt font.

Yes and no. It's not being made anymore (as the camera was made in 1959, and film was discontinued in 1991), but you can still find the occasional expired roll on ebay for a rather heafty price. I'm actually working on a drop-in adapter to make it work with modern films. So far, I've been met with mixed success. :P

There are people who can modify the cameras for modern film, but they charge several hundreds of dollars just to rip your camera apart and epoxy a modern camera back on to it. Not really worth it, imo. :P

Also, it uses one time use disposable magnesium filament flash bulbs, which aren't being made anymore.

Yeah, I have the font DPI set to 125%, other than that 4k is great :)

Keep in mind that what you see there is only the original thread. Were I to have everything up to this point bound, it'd be closer to 15 volumes total.

I'm assuming this was directed at me, in regards to the appearance of the text. The text is, in fact, just the printer-friendly printouts of the webpages, and I wanted it that way as one of the major reasons I wanted a physical copy was for (historical) posterity. Were I to actually have this published, and not just bound for myself, I would certainly look into heavy editing, or at the very least, some form of reformatting. Unfortunately, publication, to my knowledge, isn't legally possible, though I would love to be proven wrong!

I haven't the first clue how that could be done. Sure would be neat, though. :)

Take whatever document you sent to the book printers and spin it out as an ebook file. You can find utilities online to do this.

I literally had the printer-friendly version option on the forums printed out, and gave the book binders the pages to bind.

I also have no idea if I'd have to reformat anything to make it compatible as an ebook file. I also have no idea what else I'd need to consider... which I'm sure I could just search online about, but apart from Kroko asking about it, I've not had it asked for before, nor do I have an ebook reader of my own.

So, in short, maybe I'll get around to doing what needs to be done for such a thing. :)

It could be as simple as just distilling the "printer-friendly" version to a PDF. Most e-readers will load PDFs.

I've wanted a physical copy for a few reasons:
1) The NeS means a lot to me, and having it as a physical copy makes it feel more "real" or "legitimate" for me.
2) I wanted something for personal posterity.
3) I want to be able to lend it to trusted friends to read, as it's still generally easier to read stories in print than online.
